At $40/hr that works out to 250 hours run time, or a little over 6 weeks. However if there is more things wrong to repair before it is a working machine that changes the economics of it.

Apr 05, 2015 · I have an old Case 450 track loader I'm having an issue with. It will idle fine (most of the time) But once you start working it, it just dies, like it runs out of fuel. It takes a few minutes to restart, most time I have to spray a little either in it. I found a bad o ring on the T fitting on top of the fuel injection pump.

When I try to shut it down It continues to run. It will kill a few rpm's and spit and sputter some. but it wont shut down. If I turn the key back on It runs fine all day.

Most 450s have the HL-R hydraulic-activated transission, and it will free-spin if the engine isn't running. So having a stuck engine makes no difference.

Aug 29, 2019 · I had a JD 300B diesel tractor that would start and run a few minutes then quit. Turn out to be a faulty check valve on the return line going into the injection pump. It's just a little fitting just before the pump that has a little ball inside. Don't know if your 450 has it but, it's worth a look. About a $10.00 part.

May 31, 2009 · Most failures I see are worn brushes and solenoid contacts. Cheap fix if the parts are available. Seek out a rebuilder in your area. It runs around $125 to have one completly redone here. BTW, Keep those frame to bell housing bolts tight on that 450. The have a tendency to work loose and shear off in the housing.
